Void of Course Moon Analysis
I decided to dive into a more in-depth analysis of the void of course moon right now because during the past couple weeks and for the entire rest of July, there are some rather strange phenomena going on with the void moon lasting UP TO TWO DAYS! This is a very bazzario occurrence as the moon travels through the zodiac at a rate of about 2-3 days per zodiac sign. This means that almost the entire transit through whatever that sign of the void was gets lost “into the void”. But what is the void? Why doesn’t everyone talk about it? What does it mean for you? I plan on getting to all those and more in my void moon series, lets dive right in!
As mentioned further in a previous blog post I will link here, the void of course moon is a time where the moon has moved into a new sign and is not making any aspects to the “main” planetary contenders in astrology. The reason for my quote marks around “main” is that planets like Pluto, and generally well-regarded and universally-adopted planetoids and asteroids such as Chiron, Juno, Ceres, etc are all excluded from those “main” aspects, which means, that a moon can be traditionally viewed as “void” even though there could very well be aspects playing out at the moment of the void with one of these later regarded and more minor celestial bodies. Still, for hundreds of years prior to the discovery of these other planetary entities, and since their discoveries, this practice of generally avoiding the void has been observed.
I think this reason for the controversy lies in lack of awareness that aspects of the centuries-old, tried and true astrology practice ring so true yet still today. When you are trying your best methods to manifesting and working towards a goal, wouldn’t you want to avoid initiating things during that time of flat energy?
It also seems that the ones that are into astrology and moon phases are typically aware of the void, even if they do not necessarily observe the void by doing anything different. Present and past astrologers have both utilized the void and also have ignored the void. For me, when I was getting my certification in Moonology from Yasmin Boland, I was introduced to the topic and then began looking further into it and observing it. Then, in a twist, Yasmin herself started to veer from the void observance and even did a 2 hour pod cast about the void - you can check out the link to it here.
Stay tuned for part 2 on the Void Files where we will go further as well as talk about what the void means for you! Thank you so much for being here!
